Kenya: implementation of National Strategy through policies at county-level

In Kenya, scaling of agroecology is making strides through decisive policy action at county-level. The County level was identified as the optimal scale for implementation of Kenyan National Agroecology Strategy for Food System Transformation 2024-2033 (NAS-FST) given jurisdictional responsibilities.

In Kenya, counties play a central role in implementation of national agriculture policies, Since 2022, several counties have adopted County policies, plans, frameworks or strategies to scale agroecology.
