Agroecology in Switzerland
Numerous initiatives across Switzerland prove that a sustainable food system is possible. Biovision is now working to connect these valuable efforts and to improve the framework conditions that support them.
Biovision is committed to agroecology – through our project work and policy engagement in sub-Saharan Africa, at the international level, and here in Switzerland.
Pathways to Regional transformation
In several Swiss regions stakeholders are joining forces to advance agroecological food systems. The canton of Vaud is taking a pioneering role and together with stakeholders along the entire food value chain, we are defining approaches and developing pathways. The goal: to accelerate agroecological change at the regional level through strategic collaboration.

Swiss Beacons of Agroecology
There are already many inspiring examples showing how agroecology works in practice. Biovision shines a spotlight on these “beacons” through online articles, social media, and targeted public outreach. The featured farms and enterprises come from all language regions of Switzerland and cover the entire value chain. Their agroecological practices have been assessed using a scientific tool (B-ACT).

A Swiss Citizens’ Council on Food Policy
In 2022, Switzerland’s first national Citizens’ Council on Food Policy called for a comprehensive and sustainable food policy. Biovision supported this process, bringing together people from all regions and social backgrounds to discuss the future of food. The result: an impressive 126 recommendations to policymakers. A strong signal for change!
