About
We support policy-makers and shapers
Through the initiative "Food Policy Forum for Change", Biovision supports policy-makers and shapers in developing policies on agroecology or related topics. Concretely we do this by organizing peer-to-peer exchanges activities specifically targeting Sub-Saharan Africa. Beyond this, we also organise public events and activities for larger audiences and are notably working on several entry points for agroecology (bodiversity, climate, etc.) and related international fora.
Our focus lies on integrative policies that emphasise long-term productivity, greater resource-use efficiency, enhanced ecological functions, improved resilience, soil restoration/protection, biodiversity promotion, improved rural livelihoods, and equity and social well-being.

National Agroecology Strategies (NAS): lighthouses for food system transformation
About: National Agroecology Strategies (NASs) are overarching frameworks that strengthen a country’s food system policies and puts agroecology on the policy agenda. In the context of a unprecedented dynamic in Eastern and Southern Africa to develop such strategies, Biovision is supporting countries at the national level and is facilitating a Community of Practice with policymakers– and shapers from Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe, who are actively working on these policy efforts.
