The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fao.org\/news\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO<\/a>) stated that the size of the swarms and its destructive potential &#8220;is like nothing we&#8217;ve seen before&#8221;. \u00a0It is the biggest plague to hit these countries in the last 25 years. The insects destroy entire harvests. A catastrophic famine is imminent.\u00a0<\/p><h2>Biovision\u2019s contact with local partners\u00a0<\/h2><p class=\"bodytext\">Biovision is carefully following the plague\u2019s developments and is in close contact with partner organisations in Ethiopia and Kenya. Biovision project areas are not currently affected, though this could change. &#8220;Some swarms in Kenya have come alarmingly close to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/old.biovision.ch\/en\/projects\/kenya\/reviving-traditional-knowledge\/\">project area near Mount Kenya<\/a>.
