Lucy Asiimwe, expert in development entrepreneurship
Lucy Asiimwe has over 13 years of experience working with smallholder farmers and is committed to market-based systems to increase access to healthy food and jobs. She currently leads the Neycha Accelerator and Fund project, which integrates agroecology as a business strategy. Lucy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies and a Master’s degree in Business Administration, both obtained in Uganda.
Franziska Stöckli, certified primary and secondary school teacher, course leader for teacher training and further education, and active in school development
Franziska Stöckli is currently responsible for the “Stay in School” project in her role as head coach at the Glattal district (City of Zurich) education authority. As the initiator and co-author of the two cookbooks and teaching materials “Greentopf” and “Klimatopf”, she is committed to sustainable nutrition, especially for children and youth, as part of the programme “Education for Sustainable Development”.
Prof. Dr. Christine Brombach, Lecturer at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences, Wädenswil
Christine Brombach’s current research and teaching focuses on consumer sciences and nutritional behaviour. She completed a master’s degree in nutritional sciences in Giessen, Germany and the United States. After her doctorate at the University of Giessen, she was project coordinator of the German National Nutrition Survey II at the Max Rubner Institute in Karlsruhe, Germany, for four years.
Dr. Hans Rudolf Herren, Chair of the Biovision Foundation Board
Dr Hans Rudolf Herren, the founder of Biovision and chair of the foundation board, is one of the world’s leading scientists for biological pest control. He lived and researched in Africa for 26 years. From 1994 to 2005 he headed the International Centre for Insect Research (icipe) in Nairobi, Kenya.
Dr. Danny Nef, Programme Manager for International Partnerships
Danny Nef holds a doctorate in environmental sciences and is an expert in agroecology, biodiversity and climate change. He specialises in the resilience of food systems and ecosystems. Before joining Biovision, he worked as a scientist at Alliance Bioversity International CIAT in Rome and as a postdoctoral researcher at ETH Zurich.
Laura Schmid, Programme Manager, Sustainable Consumption
Laura Schmid leads the educational project “CLEVER – Sustainable Consumption” at Biovision, which inspires young people to adopt an environmentally friendly lifestyle. With experience as a teacher and a master’s degree in environment and natural resources, she shares the importance of sustainable consumption and her passion for environmental protection with young people.
Loredana Sorg, Member of the Biovision Foundation Executive Board and Co-Head of International Partnerships
Loredana Sorg is an agronomist (ETH Zurich) who joined Biovision in 2015. She works at the interface of applied research and agroecological cultivation methods as well as in inclusive market approaches in East Africa. She worked for the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) in Rome and carried out assignments to develop organic value chains in Ukraine and Georgia.
Fabio Leippert, Member of the Biovision Foundation Executive Board and Co-Head of Policy Advocacy
Fabio Leippert is a biologist and expert in international development (ETH NADEL). He joined Biovision in 2017. He has been working to promote more favourable framework conditions for agroecology, biodiversity and climate protection, especially in countries of the Global South, for over ten years. Previously, he worked as a policy advisor at SWISSAID, for GIZ in Indonesia and for the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN).
