Biovision Foundation, the Millennium Institute and the More & Better Network have organized a dialogue on 21st of October 2011, alongside CFS-37 in Rome in the context of Rio+20. The meeting allowed to reflect on recent developments on Rio+20 with regards to sustainable agriculture and food security and to discuss what would be a meaningful outcome at Rio+20 on sustainable agriculture.
Panelists stressed that Rio+20 needs to address agriculture and food security. These issues should be part of the process due to their relevance for a green economy, sustainable development and the MDGs. Furthermore, several panelists mentioned that an integrated, holistic approach on agriculture and food security, which also support and improves the livelihoods of small-scale farmers is needed.
