David Amudavi and Hans Herren on the board of IFOAM
At its World Congress in New Delhi, the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) elected the director of Biovision Africa Trust (BvAT), David Amudavi, and the President of Biovision Foundation, Dr Hans Herren, to its board. BvAT is a partner organisation of Biovision Foundation, which, among other activities, runs the Farmer Communication Programme from Nairobi. David Amudavi has been running this organisation since it was founded in 2009.
Amudavi is also promoting agro-ecology at the African Union (AU) and is working intensively for the AU initiative for Ecological Organic Agriculture (EOA-I). With Hans Herren, IFOAM has elected one of the best known specialists for agro-ecology to its board. Biovision congratulates bo5th new board members for their nomination.
IFOAM was founded in France in 1972 in order to unite and strengthen the different ecological organisations. According to IFOAM, ecological agriculture is more than just a way to naturally treat soil, plants and animals. It is a holistic paradigm for sustaining life on earth.
