Healthy animals
Sick animals, or a lack of farm animals reduce the level of Africa’s rural production. Sources of milk run dry solely due to sleeping sickness among dairy cattle – harvests fail because of a lack of ploughing oxen. Yet tsetse flies can, for example, be successfully captured in an environmentally friendly trap, thereby controlling sleeping sickness (Nagana) and enabling considerable crop increases.
Biovision supports implemented projects that combat the tsetse fly
The tsetse fly is the transmitter of the deadly sleeping-sickness to cattle (Nagana) and humans. Thanks to this method of insect control, greater numbers of cattle and ploughing oxen survive, which results in increased agricultural production. Milk production is also notably increased.
